Been going back and forth on a 2019 Escalade Premium Luxury that popped up near Motor City and my friends are all telling me I'm losing my mind even considering something that big in Dubai traffic but there's just something about that V8 rumble and the massive space for the kids and all their beach gear that the usual German SUV options just don't have you know. The owner is a pilot who's relocating and he's been pretty upfront about a few small scratches on the rear bumper and that the magnetic ride suspension feels a little floaty over speed bumps which he claims is normal for these trucks but I honestly have zero experience with American luxury cars since everyone I know drives Lexus or BMW. I'm most worried about the transmission because I've read some horror stories about the 8L90 shudder and whether the AC system can actually keep a black interior cool in August when it's pushing 50 degrees outside because if the rear evaporator is weak my family will never let me hear the end of it. Found a spot that does a Cadillac Pre Purchase Check Dubai and they apparently hook up the scanner to check for any misfire history or active codes hiding in the ECU since sometimes sellers clear the check engine light right before you show up which is pretty sneaky. I just want to know if any of you guys actually daily drive one of these big American barges out here and if the running costs are as brutal as the fuel gauge suggests or if I'm just overthinking the whole thing.
