Why Is the Middlemist Red Camellia So Rare?

I’ve been reading about rare flowers lately, and the Middlemist Red Camellia really caught my attention. It’s crazy to think that only two known plants exist in the entire world.

From what I understand, it was originally brought from China to England in the 1800s, but somehow it disappeared from its natural habitat. Now it only survives in carefully maintained gardens. That makes me wonder—how does something so beautiful just vanish from the wild?

Another thing I found interesting is that it’s extremely difficult to grow or reproduce. So even if someone wanted to cultivate it, it’s not really possible like other flowers.

Do you guys think modern technology could help bring it back on a larger scale someday? Or will it always remain one of the rarest flowers ever?

Would love to hear your opinions or any facts I might have missed.
