Absolutely loved my time at this theatre! It’s like theatre summer camp – outdoor, summer-stock style. You’ll be cast in 4-5 shows, usually landing one lead and one major supporting role, with ensemble roles in the others. Shows run in rep, so no lead every night, giving some well-deserved rest.

It’s a hands-on experience; everyone chips in for set construction and costume work. The venue is simple, located on a campground/RV park, with outdoor rehearsals and basic locker-room dressing rooms.

The family running the place is fantastic, deeply invested in the theatre. Traditions like singing the anthem and creating musical medleys add a unique charm. You might sell concessions as your character during intermission or teach at their musical theatre summer camp for extra cash.

Talent varies; some local actors may lack training. The focus is more on personalities than technical skills, creating a supportive cast but with varying skill levels. It’s a great place for growth – I even got to choreograph!

Housing isn’t plush – RVs, construction worker housing, or a converted box office, shared with a few roommates. Bugs are part of the deal. Pay isn’t high, especially in rehearsals, but it improves post-opening.

The community is largely Mormon, influencing the theatre’s culture. No shows or rehearsals on Sundays, and no alcohol or swearing on-site. Productions align with conservative worldviews.

The backdrop of Idaho’s mountains is stunning, and you’ll enjoy breaks by the river. Full houses, local fame, and cast excursions like white water rafting add to the experience. A small, walkable town, but you might need rides to Boise for Walmart trips.

It’s hard work, but the fantastic people here make it all worthwhile!
